Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of holistic medicine which involves treating the individual with highly dilute substances, given mainly in tablet form with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing. It was developed over 200 years ago by the German doctor and chemist Samuel Hahnemann.

The word ‘homeopathy’ comes from the Greek meaning ‘similar suffering’ based on the principle of ‘like cures like’, that is a substance that would cause symptoms in a healthy person is used to treat those same symptoms in illness. For example, one remedy that might be considered in the person suffering from insomnia is Coffea (coffee) known to cause sleeplessness.

Homeopathic medicines have no toxic side-effects and can be used safely alongside conventional medicines. Homeopathy is suitable for patients looking for a holistic approach to enhance their health and well-being.

Many clients will consider homeopathy to be comforting, calming or soothing.

During an in depth case taking process you may be asked questions about yourself including your diet, mood, sleep and dreams and how you cope with stress. After careful analysis your homeopath will prescribe a homeopathic remedy for you to take.

The first consultation will last approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, with follow-up consultations lasting between 30 to 45 minutes. Time is taken after the consultation to analyse all the information a homeopathic remedy will be posted to you usually within 2 to 3 days after the consultation with instructions.

The fee includes the consultation, analysis time and the homeopathic remedy an additional charge may be made for repeat remedies between consultations.
